Dear Parents and Karateka

 

WESTERN PROVINCE KATA TOURNAMENT –   24th MARCH 2018 –   WELGEMOED PRIMARY SCHOOL

We have the privilege to host the abovementioned tournament at WELGEMOED PRIMARY SCHOOL.   This year we will have separate kumite and kata tournaments so that we can prepare our students better in both. Boys and girls will compete against each other.  The first 3 karateka will receive medals.

 

Your son/daughter ___________________________________________________has been selected by the instructor, to take part in this tournament. Only Karateka that are proficient enough to participate will receive a letter with their name filled in.   The 1st three places will receive medals.    Boys and Girls will compete in the same division.

 

ALL THE PARTICIPANTS HAVE TO REGISTER  15 MINUTES PRIOR –   **  PLEASE PAY AT TOURNAMENT

ENTRY FEE FOR PARTICIPANTS:    KATA  R60.00                                               

 

STARTING  TIME PER DIVISION:  ( Please come 15 prior to starting time as space is limited)

 

9h00                        u/7           (6 and 7  years old)

1 Division 1.             All Belts         JUNO  ICH  or TAIKYOKU SONO ICHI

 

10h00                      u/9           (8 and 9 years old)

2 Divisions                                1. (Beginners)         Belts White, Orange and Maroon –   JUNO ICH or TAIKYOKU SONO ICHI                                       

  1. (Intermediate)     Belts Light blue and higher   –         JUNO ICHI or JUNO NI

 

11h00                      u/11         (10 and 11 years old)

3 Divisions                                1. (Beginners)          Belts: White, Orange and Maroon:  JUNO ICH or TAIKYOKU  SONO ICHI                                                               2.  (Intermediate)      Belts: Blue till Purple:         JUNO ICHI or PINAN 2 or JUNO SONO NI

  1. (Advanced)  Belts: Green and Above:     JUNO NI or GEKI SAI SHO

 

12h00                      u/13         (12 and 13 years old)

  1. Divisions 1. (Beginners)         Belts up to Maroon  –       JUNO ICHI  or  TAIKYOKU SONO ICHI
  2.  (Intermediate)      Belts: Blue till Purple –       JUNO ICHI or JUNO NI  or  PINAN 2
  3.    (Advanced)         Belts; Green and Above –   PINAN 2 or GEKI SAI SHO

 

12h30                      u/15         (14 and 15 year old)   & Open  Division (16yr – 34yr)

3 Divisions                                1. (Beginners)          Belts up to Maroon  –                    JUNO ICH  or TAIKYOKU SONO ICHI

  1.    (Intermediate)       Belts Blue to Purple  –           JUNO ICHI or JUNO NI or  PINAN 2
  2.    (Advanced)          Belts Green and Above  –      PINAN 2 or GEKI SAI SHO

 

12h30                      VETERAN  DIVISION (35 and up)

3 Divisions                                1 . (Beginners)          Belts up to Maroon –                JUNO  ICH or TAIKYOKU SONO ICHI

  1. (Intermediate)  Belts Blue to Purple   –       JUNO  ICHI or  JUNO NI or PINAN 2
  2. (Advanced) Belts Green and Above – PINAN 2 or GEKI SAI SHO

 

After the division is completed, the two top point scorers of each division in that age group, will compete against each other for the top two places in that age group to be nominated for WP colours.  Please remember that you need to be placed in two different kata competitions to be awarded WP Colours.

 

Spectators are welcome  :     Entrance fee:   R30.00 for adults and R10.00 for children.
