WESTERN PROVINCE TOURNAMENT 2016

Dear Parents and Karateka

WESTERN PROVINCE KARATE TOURNAMENT – 7 MAY 2016 – BOTHASIG TOWN HALL

We have the privilege to host the abovementioned tournament at BOTHASIG HALL. (Directions on next page)

SEMI CONTACT: Your son/daughter_____________________________________has been selected to take part in this tournament: Not all Karateka are proficient enough to take part in this tournament. If a karateka received this letter with the name filled in, he/she was chosen by the instructor to take part. The first three places will receive medals. Two divisions will be combined if there are less than 4 fighters in a specific division.

THE FIGHTER’S FEE IS JUNIORS – R80.00. (PAY AT TOURNAMENT , NOT BEFOREHAND)
SENIORS – R100.00

IMPORTANT: FIGHTERS WHO WEIGH IN LATE WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO FIGHT. FIGHTERS HAVE TO BE THE AGE ON THE DAY OF THE TOURNAMENT, e.g. U/7 MEANS THAT THE KARATEKA HAS NOT YET TURNED 8.

The u/13, have to be 12 or 13 on the day of the tournament.
UP TO U/13 – will fight with full protection, – Gloves, shin & foot pads and headgear with mask.
CUBS, u/15 – will fight with gloves, shin & foot pads and headgear without mask.

YOUNG LIONS, u/17, have to be 16 or 17 on the day of the tournament.
The young lions fight with shin & foot pads and gloves.

The full contact knockdown karate is meant for all male and female karateka that are proficient enough. The 1st three places will receive medals. We will also have a trophy for the Most Spirited Fighter.

Referees, instructors and helpers must please be at the venue at 07h15.

Spectators welcome. Entrance fee: R30.00 for adults and R10.00 for children.

To qualify for Western Province Colours: Karateka who were placed 1st and 2nd in a Western Province tournament or South African Tournament on two occasions will qualify or Western Province Colours. (2nd place only if a division has 4 or more fighters. It does not have to happen in the same year.
